Is Liquid Screed Strong?

Liquid screed can be laid in thinner layers than traditional screed options so you may assume that because of that liquid screeds are less strong than traditional screeds but that is not the case in fact.

Varying Strengths

Anhydrite-based liquid screeds have a compressive strength of C25 N/mm2, extra strong versions reach about C35 N/mm whereas traditional, cement-based, flowing screeds range from C20 to C30 N/mm2. As mentioned before liquid screed is laid in thinner layers because of its relative strength and this has numerous benefits. One is that you are able to fit thicker insulation as the liquid screed takes up less space, another benefit is that the liquid screed is lighter than traditional options which benefits the overall structural integrity of the build.
