4 Unconventional Properties Benefitting from Underfloor Heating & Liquid Screed
When you imagine the typical property for a liquid screed or underfloor heating installation, residential properties, holiday rentals, or high-end offices are what come to mind. But it couldn’t be further from reality as both products are suited for a far wider range of constructions.
As experts in these products, we have undertaken installation projects in unique and unconventional properties. In this blog, our underfloor heating Manchester team explores four unique projects completed to a high standard by EasyFlow.
1 – New Saints Football Club, Oswestry
Many liquid screed formulations offer superior strength and durability for floors that experience high traffic frequently, even in outdoor conditions. That’s why it can be a “game-changing” solution for commercial properties and venues.
Nothing is more exemplary of this than when we resurfaced the concrete walkways of the New Saints FC. These were large-scale walkways that led from the entrance down to the seating areas, partially exposed to the elements. Using a high-strength flowing concrete liquid screed, these walkways were resurfaced with a robust finish.
2 – Shrewsbury Chapel Conversion
There is a common misconception that wet underfloor heating cannot be installed in listed buildings, but with the right approach, these buildings rich in history can appreciate the convenience of modern heating.
Of all listed buildings, EasyFlow have given a full-service liquid screed & underfloor heating installation; a chapel in Shrewsbury is the finest example. Our team approached the project with special attention to the historic properties of the building and factored this into our CAD design and calculations.
3 – Joule’s Brewery Renovation
Using carefully calculated CAD designs, EasyFlow can fit efficiently underfloor heating around a building with any purpose. When Joule’s brewery in Shropshire required renovations, the owners chose to invest in underfloor heating for their brewer’s hall. The renovated hall now benefits from modern heating, covered in high-strength screed that will last for decades of wear and tear
4 – 840m² Leisure Centre Resurfacing
Liquid screed can be poured up to 2000m² in a single day, equivalent to a third of a football pitch. That’s more than enough to resurface some of the largest open-space rooms in commercial buildings.
EasyFlow’s largest single pour to date was the floor of a leisure centre, measuring 840m² in total. It was all done in one day by one team, supplied with all the liquid anhydrite screed needed to rejuvenate the floor.
