The Advantages of Underfloor Heating

Previously, we have discussed the various advantages of Gyvlon with Underfloor Heating.

This has led to more people specifying the use of Gyvlon, particularly with Underfloor Heating (UFH). The design versatility of thinner screed depth coupled with the performance with UFH means that it is a very easy decision, or is it?

Gyvlon have attended numerous exhibitions over the last year and in particular the Homebuilder shows around the country. We have been amazed at the number of people who do not understand UFH and the way it should work in the UK.

We have heard people saying that they have “tried UFH, but didn’t get on with it”, that it “took too long to heat up” and then when it did they were “so hot that they had to open the windows”. It appears that people believed that UFH is a large storage heater into which you pump a huge amount of energy into and then let it give out its heat slowly.

The UK is classed as a temperate climate and so what is needed is a controllable and responsive UFH system. To keep the environment in the home or work place comfortable you need a quick response time in your heating system.

One such company Thermoplane has already achieved results with Ground and Air Source heat pumps using Gyvlon exceeding the Six Star Heat Emitter Guide rating.
