Can Underfloor Heating Pipes Leak

Underfloor heating can leak in some cases such as when it gets accidentally punctured by following trades; when the system is installed incorrectly or general wear and tear of the system can be enough to puncture the pipe.

Installation

Underfloor heating pipework should always be installed in continuous loops from the manifold, around the area, and returning to the manifold with no interruptions. This greatly reduces the risk of any leaks beneath the floor, unless the pipe gets punctured by following trades by mistake.

Fixing Leaks

Any leaks at the manifold can be easily identified and fixed if the pressure drops or water is present so leaks are a relatively simple fix.
