Ground Floor Heating Renovation in Birmingham

Brief

This client contracted us for underfloor heating installation on their new ground floor renovation at their home in Birmingham. Our installation team was tasked with laying underfloor heating and screed to the client’s specification.

Key Considerations

The client had originally planned out his depths around 100mm insulation and a 50mm floor screed for the underfloor heating. We appreciate clients that make the underfloor heating installation process straightforward for us, though we still need our own surveyors to perform an initial site visit.

This is to check out the scope of work needed, any potential complications, and ensure all the measurements are correct in order to apply the floor screed to their renovation.

What We Achieved

After surveying their ground floor, we realised an extra 20mm was required for the floor depth. However, it would be possible to adjust the insulation up to 120mm and keep the screed depths at 50mm.

This saved the customer considerable time and money, which they were extremely pleased with. If we could not have adjusted the depth with insulation, we would have been forced to make up this extra 20mm with liquid floor screed. Furthermore, the additional insulation would have the benefit of making their running cost of underfloor heating a fair bit cheaper.

The underfloor heating installation process went smoothly, and the liquid screed dried fast, so the client could continue with their renovation when it was dried.
