Underfloor Heating Renovation for Shrewsbury Club Mascot

Brief

The man behind Lenny the Lion, mascot of the Shrewsbury Town Football Club in Shropshire, contacted EasyFlow’s underfloor heating installers. Our task was to design a bespoke system for his house close to his beloved New Meadow stadium, the home of the Shrewsbury team.

Our underfloor heating Shropshire team designed the project using the Easy Standard system, consisting of underfloor heating, floor insulation and floor screed.

Key Considerations

Aside from working in the home of a lion, the project would be very straightforward. The only unusual element was in one zone where a different type of floor insulation needed to be used. This floor insulation couldn’t be clipped our standard way in order to secure the pipes. We would have to use clip rails for this one particular section, after which the liquid screed could be poured as usual.

What We Achieved

Our underfloor heating installers visited Lenny at home to go through his requirements and to get a better understanding of the scope of works. We were then able to undertake heat loss calculations for every individual room and design a system that would work perfectly for him.

Once the floor insulation and piping was installed, the liquid screed was pumped and installed the following day, with a little help from Lenny! This was one of the most enjoyable underfloor heating projects in Shropshire that we’ve undertaken.
