School Floor Screed Refurbishment

Brief

One of our commercial construction partners who we have close ties with are Welch & Phillips Building Contractors Ltd. This Shropshire-based company subcontracted our liquid screed Shropshire team to resurface the solid flooring of Trinity Primary school, a popular educational institute on the outskirts of Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

This job needed a quick turnaround time, as the construction work on the school needed to be completed so that classes could resume on schedule.

Key Considerations

This was a simple in-and-out screeding job, where Welch & Phillips had dealt with the majority of the building work. Our liquid screed Shropshire team’s task was to select a screed that was both durable and could cure fast enough for their needs.

This screed needed to dry sufficiently and robustly at the requested depth. This would allow building work to continue on time, without resulting in a weaker solid floor.

What We Achieved

Our site surveyors inspected the school and coordinated with the builders to learn what kind of floor coverings would be used once the screed tried. With this information, our team recommended ECO-FD flowing Gyvlon screed.

This is a quick drying screed with a low skin solution. This particular product could be ready for non-sensitive floor coverings in as little as 14 days. Once approved, we moved forward to lay the Gyvlon screed, and finished our work on schedule within the required time.
