New Build in Bishop Auckland

Brief

Easyflow installers travelled up to Durham to supply and install our Easy Standard concrete underfloor heating system in new build property under construction. This included smart heating system controls, floor insulation anhydrite screed, and floor preparation services.

Key Considerations

As this was a new build property designed explicitly to have underfloor heating and anhydrite screed, there were no significant complications or considerations to solve. Our team only had to design an efficient layout and calculate the right amount of liquid screed to cover the pipes.

What We Achieved

The team prepared the floor by installing a 500 gauge polythene membrane lapped up the walls, with 8mm perimeter edging foam to allow for expansion of the anhydrite screed as it cured.

A ten zone system was used to cover seven rooms on the ground floor. The pre-assembled manifold was first attached in the agreed location and the loops marked out on the floor using a bespoke computer aided design of the floor layout.

The concrete underfloor heating pipes were secured through the polythene using clips that fix into a layer of floor insulation. Finally, the underfloor pipework was filled with water and pressure tested before installing a liquid floor screed made of anhydrite.

Later we will return to the property to test moisture and sand any laitance that has formed on the surface of the screed. When this is complete, the builders will be able to lay floor coverings and continue their work.
