Renovation in Great Boughton, Cheshire

Brief

A Chester-based construction company was working on a four-storey property renovation in Great Boughton. We were subcontracted in to provide underfloor heating and floor screeding for all floors of this property.

Key Considerations

The property had height and weight restrictions on the upper three storeys, meaning that our underfloor heating installers  would have to make adjustments to the floor screeding for these upper floors.

What We Achieved

Having visited the site to ascertain the scope of works, our underfloor heating installers designed an Easy Standard system for the lower ground floor/basement area to be clipped through 100mm thermal floor insulation and finished with 50mm anhydrite liquid floor screeding.

This system couldn’t be used due to height and weight restrictions on the upper floors. We instead chose a low profile 20mm tray laid over a structural timber board. Our underfloor heating installation team fixed down the adhesive-backed boards and then applied a layer of gypsum-based, flexible, self-levelling floor compound.

This system results in underfloor heating for tiled floors and engineered wood floors that allows for excellent thermal conductivity. The minimal floor build-up fit within the restrictions and the system will be ready to take the clients’ floor tiles and engineered wood floors.
